morita / showroom / dental plaza hiroshima
f/p design collaborated with takenaka corporation, one of japan’s leading architectural developers, on the rebuilding of the hiroshima branch of morita corporation, a leading general dental trading company in japan. our responsibilities involved definition of the exterior color coordination, supervision of the interior design for the entrance and showroom spaces, and signage planning.
the hiroshima branch is a midsize office located in a densely populated urban area. the showroom is designed to encourage visitors to focus on the products by limiting outward views while incorporating large glass partitions and skylights to maintain a sense of openness. a display case is availed on the side of the entrance to place posters and other materials to contribute to the local community and environment.
the exterior and interior adopt a clean white theme, consistent with other morita facilities, and are accented with a wooden counter and sophisticated ceramic tiles to reflect a unified brand image while warmly welcoming visitors. the showroom is characterized by custom-built furniture designed with meticulous attention to detail, creating a sense of clarity and orderliness that enhances the overall spatial functionality.
